Nazareth Hospital Welcomes General Surgeon Omer Nasir, MD

Northeast Philadelphia – (July 31, 2020) – Board-certified general surgeon Omer Nasir, MD, FACS, has joined Abhiman Cheeyandira, MD, MRCS, FACS, at Nazareth Surgical Associates at Nazareth Hospital.
 
After receiving his medical degree from University of Baghdad College of Medicine in Iraq, Dr. Nasir completed his internship for general surgery at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Md., and a residency for general surgery at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed additional surgery training from the Arab Board of Surgery and Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Dr. Nasir is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) as well as a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and American Hernia Society (AHS).
 
His areas of interest include: complex hernias; abdominal wall reconstructions; gastric, intestinal and colorectal disease; a wide range of anorectal procedures (hemorrhoids, anal fistulas and fissures); and advanced flap techniques for pilonidal disease.
