GREEN BUSINESS: It's More Than A Color

Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce

Continues Speaker Series April 21 With

‘Green Business: It’s More Than a Color’

Six speakers will comprise the panel in the fourth Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Speaker Series event entitled “Green Business: It’s More Than a Color” on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at American Heritage Federal Credit Union, 2060 Red Lion Rd., Philadelphia.

Registration and networking begin at 7:30 a.m. The program begins at 8:15 a.m.

The event, sponsored by PECO, is open to the public. Admission is $10 for GNPCC members and $15 for non-members, payable at the door.

The panelists will be: Eli Sachs of Incite Energy; Jamie Gauthier of the Sustainability Network of Philadelphia; Christine Knapp of the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability; Dr. Donald Goeltz of Holy Family University; and Tom Brubaker of PECO. Luanne Amato of Holy Family University will be the moderator.

What is a Green Business? Green businesses adopt principles, policies and practices that improve the quality of life for the customers who do business with them, the employees who work for them, and the communities they serve. Green Businesses use more than just slogans, or carefully recycle their waste or purchase products that are environmentally safe.

Green businesses are socially and environmentally responsible and responsive.

Green companies challenge themselves to bring environmental sustainability and concern for community health into all of their activities — from production and supply chain management to employee relations and customer service.

There will be ample time for questions and interaction with the panelists.

The next Speaker Series event will be Wednesday, June 15, entitled “Philadelphia: At Your Service,” featuring four city department heads, including Managing Director Mike DiBerardinis.
