President, Jefferson Health Northeast
Richard J. Galup, MBA, MS, OTR/L, is a senior executive within Jefferson Health and President of Jefferson Health – Northeast, the largest healthcare provider in Northeast Philadelphia and Lower Bucks County. Rich oversees Jefferson Bucks, Frankford, and Torresdale Hospitals, as well as a strong network of outpatient centers and primary and specialty care physician practices. He proudly continues the longstanding mission held by these leading-edge hospitals to provide advanced medicine and personal care to and improve lives in the communities they serve.
Rich began his career as an occupational therapist before transitioning into a management role. He spent time in various healthcare systems in the Philadelphia region, including Mercy Health System, Community Health Systems, and Einstein Healthcare Network. He joined Aria Health (now Jefferson Health – Northeast) in 2012 as the Executive Director of the Bucks hospital campus and has grown with the organization over the past seven years to assume progressively challenging leadership roles, including serving as part of the team responsible for facilitating the merger with Jefferson Health.
In his previous role as Senior Vice President of Operations, Rich led all three Jefferson Health – Northeast hospital operations teams, overseeing inpatient and outpatient, emergency, and surgical care. In addition, he served as the president of 3B Orthopedics at Jefferson Health.
Rich earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences and Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Misericordia University in Dallas, PA, and his Master of Business Administration degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. He is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and is a recipient of the Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce Certificate in Exemplary Leadership.
Rich currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Council Rock Education Foundation and The Hospital Association of Pennsylvania: Southeast Advisory Board.
Rich and his wife Lorenza reside in Newtown, PA, and have three children; Silvie (7), Rich (5), and Francine (5). Outside of work, he enjoys time with his family and vacationing at the Jersey shore.

Dan McElhatton is an attorney with the Law Offices of Daniel P. McElhatton, PC. Mr. McElhatton served as a Philadelphia City Council member from 1992 to 1996. He is also a longtime member of the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce (among many organizations) and most recently served as Chair of the Board of Directors. He has previously served as Cahir of the Board of Trustees of Community College of Philadelphia. Dan’s practice includes significant experience with employment-related matters, including handling of age, ADA, ADEA, FMLA cases, He has tried numerous cases to jury verdict and has argued appeals in appellate Court on State and federal levels. In May 2016, he prevailed in a precedent-setting case in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
