DRCC will be holding it’s first Holiday Food Drive from Dec. 11th-Jan. 5th to benefit the Bridesburg Community Food Pantry. One of the largest in the City, the food pantry is located on the lower level of the Bridesburg United Methodist Church on Kirkbridge St. and provides services for hundreds of people in the 19134 and 19137 area each week.
Here are two ways you can help:
1. Donate online at www.drcc-phila.org/donate! Instead of heading to the store to buy donation items, can the cans and give what you planned on spending directly to the food pantry. It’s quick, easy, and they can get much more out of $1 than you could at any grocery store - two meals to be exact! (*Note "2017 Food Drive" in Comments of Donation)
2. If you’d prefer to clean out your pantry and contribute food items, bring your non-perishable donations to any of our Neighborhood Drop-off Locations listed below!
River Wards Café - 3118 Richmond St.
Bridesburg Recreation Center - 4601 Richmond St.
Byrne’s Tavern - 3301 Richmond St.
Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion - 8046 Frankford Ave.
Sweet Lucy’s Smokehouse - 7500 State Rd.
ABV% Beverage - 3421 Richmond St.
Bridesburg Commissary - 2551 Orthodox St.
We’re accepting any non-expired food, but here’s a list of high-priority items recommended by Philabundance
