The beautiful Union League Golf Club at Torresdale is where the idea of forming a Chamber of Commerce began. Shortly after March 28, 1922, Charles J. McGough and Alvin A. Swenson signed the charter for the Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
